From the Realm of the Ancestors

From the Realm of the Ancestors, edited by Joan Marler, is an extensive anthology in honor of Gimbutas. Over sixty contributors range from archaeologists to linguists to geneticists to artists, poets, and ritual makers. Reading it, I was struck by both the depth and scope of her knowledge and the broad spectrum of people she influenced. Joan Marler has done an enormous job collecting, arranging, editing and framing this amount of material. I (Starhawk) am proud to have an article in it myself. The book is published by:

Knowledge, Ideas and Trends, Inc.
1131 Tolland Turnpike
Manchester CO 06040

The ISBN number (for ordering) is ISBN1-879198-25-8

It is available from Amazon.com -- if you can't afford to buy the book yourself, please ask your local public library, or college or university library, to order it. That way it will become available to many readers.

HI, My name is Gerard J. Kelly. I am a sculptor, living and working in Newfoundland, Canada. I have long been fascinated by archeology, and mythology, even before I seriously started to study art. I have now been making art for 20 years. I am working in the Fine Arts Dept. of Memorial University of Newfoundland, as Sculpture Technician. Last year I had an exhibit entitled "In The Temple of The Goddess", at the Arts and Culture Center in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. I have read books by Gimbutas, and Joseph Campbell, and drawn inspiration from them. This summer I am exhibiting at a gallery called Artspace in Nova Scotia, Canada. This exhibit is called, "Conversations with the Goddess", and is also influenced by the writings of Gimbutas. If you would like to know more about my work, see images, or have a written article submitted to your page, please get in touch. Thank you, Gerard Visit my web site at http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/2629 .
